Tensions escalated at booth number 301 of West Dhantala as BJP MLA Shikha Chatterjee from Dabram Fulbari was detained by the police. The incident unfolded as police sought to arrest Chatterjee, alleging her attempted entry into the booth, triggering a ruckus by BJP workers.

Earlier in the day, MLA Shikha Chattopadhyay of Dagram Fulbari made headlines by raising allegations against the Trinamool Congress during voting. Chattopadhyay cast her vote at booth number 46 of Shantinagar Boubazar Primary School on Friday, accusing the Trinamool Congress of instigating election turmoil. She claimed instances of party office arson and the obstruction of booth agents in various locations. 

Election Commission has demanded a report from Jalpaiguri district administration on police scuffle with Shikha Chatterjee.
